European beaver
Everyone has heard of him before. But who has ever actually seen a beaver? That's where it gets a little more difficult. The European beaver is not only a big city dweller in the greater Berlin area. Thanks to many small rivers, streams and streams, it can be found almost throughout the city.
I'll take you on a little walk, show you typical beaver tracks and tell you many exciting facts about the second largest rodent in the world.
With luck, Master Bokert might even cross our path and we can watch him having breakfast.
The sequence:
We meet at sunrise on the outskirts of Berlin or in a Berlin city park and go in search of the beaver. Depending on weather conditions and animal sightings, the hike takes between one and a half and two hours.
During the morning, in the best case scenario, we will not only see beavers, but with a lot of luck other city dwellers (e.g. foxes or raccoons).
We will take a break at a suitable point and I will tell you a few secrets about the beaver and explain how you can easily distinguish the beaver from other animal species such as the coypu or the muskrat.
The most important thing first: No resting places, nests and/or burrows of wild animals are revealed. Possible sightings of animals are based solely on experience and behavior of the animals. An animal sighting cannot be guaranteed.
What should you bring:
Clothing and footwear appropriate to the weather and season
Snacks & drinks for your catering
no harsh perfume or deodorant
Fun and enthusiasm for nature
If necessary, binoculars and/or camera (preferably with a telephoto lens)
Who is the tour suitable for:
Apart from your enthusiasm for nature, you should be able to walk a few kilometers. The hike takes place on flat gravel paths. There are no big mountains in and around Berlin anyway. The tour is also suitable for children and young people. A respectful behavior goes without saying for young and old.
Where does the tour take place:
Depending on the season, the tour takes place south of Berlin or in a Berlin city park. We will arrange the exact meeting point and thus the start of the hike separately by email after your booking and payment. This primarily serves to protect nature in order to prevent "tourism" to certain places.
